Written for the “hollow” prompt on my 2017 Summer Mini Challenge table.

So if you were curious about this post on Tumblr, allow me to put you out of your misery :P

And now I shall attempt to juggle two simultaneous headcanons for the same characters at the same time )

This series is going to be written exclusively from Charlie's POV, mostly because I think that will be the most interesting way to tell this. If he could birth a baby himself, he'd do it, but he can't - so he'll go through his wife's pregnancy every step of the way, from this moment of them deciding to start trying, to her actually having the baby, and beyond.

I know kid!fic isn't everyone's cup of tea. It isn't even my cup of tea, but I've had a surprisingly nice response to the first two entries in this series. We'll see if anybody else wants to board this train with me, or if they'd rather stick to the fun falling-in-love Count Me In universe instead. These two post-canon continuums are totally unrelated. Which will make life interesting for me, because I'll be working on them both at the same time. Luckily, writing for one tends to inspire me to pursue ideas for the other, so hopefully this won't be the last SMC fill for these two in some capacity :D

I don't know if I fooled anyone by stepping so far out of my comfort zone, but I did receive some lovely comments for this fic before author reveals, and I saw at least one rec, which made me happy ♥ I'm definitely looking forward to exploring this relationship more, especially from Richard's perspective.

Chapter Title: 26 | Just Janine
Prompt: #029 – Janine Kishi
Universe: Post-canon
Genre: Family
Rating: T
Word Count: 2,323
Summary: For a long moment, they simply regarded at each other, communicating with their eyes and hands what they couldn’t convey with words. He loved that he could express with a simple stroke of skin how much he loved her, how in awe he was of her, how proud he was to have been part of this occasion, how excited he was about their future, the three of them, in their happy little family.

Hello! Thank you for offering to write a fic for me! =) I am a hopeless romantic, and all of my major ships are het, so this exchange is like a dream come true, LOL. I like to think I'm easy to please, but I'll let you be the judge of that. Keep reading for my general likes/dislikes, and some prompt ideas to get your muse rolling...

The first of my two 2016 [community profile] fandom_stocking gifts, this one for [personal profile] ozqueen. I wrote and posted this fic before I read her letter for chocolate box this year, where she mentioned being interested in some Charlie Thomas & Patrick Thomas family dynamics, so win-win! =)

Points of interest... )

I enjoyed writing this immensely, and [personal profile] ozqueen enjoyed receiving it. I'm really happy I was able to push all the buttons for her that the book pushed in me. I have so many feels and so much sympathy for all of the Thomas brothers with this book - Charlie and Sam and poor David Michael, who feels left out but probably doesn't really understand why.

Hmm...I *do* have a David Michael prompt in my [community profile] babysitters100 table...maybe this is a way to fulfill it...

This year's [community profile] fandom_stockings have (finally) been revealed. Mine is here - and boy was I totally spoiled this year, haha. Not only did I receive 3 wonderful giftfics, but I also received recs for nail polish tutorials (yes!), a clutch of Clarissa-centric blog recs (Yes!), and icons from fellow fans of Jonathan Creek and Monarch of the Glen (YES!). I enjoy meeting new people who share my interests, so yays all around!

I ♥ this exchange because its the time when I'm mostly likely to receive things for the tiny fandoms of my heart, alongside the bigger fandoms of my heart, like BSC.

As per usual, I will post recs/author's notes for the few giftfics I gave this year in the coming weeks.

That being said, this is likely the last year I'm going to participate in [community profile] fandom_stocking, because the exchange is very poorly organized. It has single-handedly fueled my muses during the Christmas/holiday period for the last couple of years, but participating has become such a hassle that it'd be easier/more satisfying to gift things to the same folks, outside of the exchange.

Speaking of which - the [community profile] hetswap tagset looks very promising for this year, with multiple pairings from all of my major fandoms (including Inuyasha, BSC, and Sweet Valley) having been nominated quite early in the game. I nominated some things myself, but I was tickled to see so much possibility already there. There seems to have been something of a resurgence in desire to see IY canon pairings, especially - I'd love to see some of my IY fandom friends participate, just to be able to read new works by them (HINT HINT).

Word Count: 1,896

This is how you kick off a shiny brand new year: with OTP fic! ♥

Points of interest... )

I certainly hope this isn't the last time I visit this particular series this year, but I have learned better than to make promises that time and circumstance force me to break. Considering my [community profile] fandom_stocking pieces with these two are leading me into a completely different, separate universe from this one, I definitely forsee myself spending a lot of time with these characters, in one iteration or another :D

Chapter Title: 24 | The Cafeteria Conundrum
Prompt: #064 – Shy

Chapter Title: 23 | Stubborn
Prompt: #058 – Grounded
Universe: Post-canon
Genre: Family

This was fun to write, and it came out more or less in one piece - a plus when writing against a deadline, LOL. It was refreshing to write this pairing again, and sort of whetted my appetite for more. And it's always a plus to knock off another [community profile] babysitters100 prompt, considering I've been working on that table for six years now o.O

So apparently I like to celebrate momentous occasions with sudden bursts of fic.

Points of interest... )

As with just about every other entry in this series, finishing this fic has spawned ideas for at least two more, so I'm definitely not done! Here's hoping it won't take two months to crank out the next installment *fingers crossed*
