THE RULES
The rules are, for the most part, simple. This is simply meant to be a fun, muse-boosting challenge to help fill the long summer days ahead.

[+] This challenge is open to all fandoms, and/or original fiction. It doesn't have to be something I'm familiar with in order for you to participate.

[+] Simply choose one of the five prompt tables below, paste it to your journal, and comment on this post with a link to your choice.

[+] You do not have to specify what you're going to write about, simply choose a table. All fandoms, characters, pairings, and original work are welcome. You can choose to write for one fandom, five different fandoms, or mix fanfic and original work - whatever you'd like!

Use this format when you're commenting to claim a table (it'll just keep things neater on my end):

[+] You must write at least 100 words for each prompt. There is no upper limit.

[+] All material posted for this challenge must be new. You can write five separate stories, combine your prompts to write a chaptered fic or serial, or use the prompts as extra boosts for stubborn WIPs.

[+] Please post each fic separately at the venue of your choice (LJ, DW, FF.net, MM.org, AO3, dA, etc - as long as its not registration required) and link each piece in your prompt table. This is already built into the code for your table; simply copy and paste your link on the inside of this html tag: <*a href=" [insert your link here] ">PROMPT<*/a>.

[+] All genres (action/adventure, romance, comedy, darkfic, etc) are welcome.

[+] All ratings (G to NC-17 or K+ to X) are welcome.

[+] One of the prompts in your chosen table have you stumped? No problem - simply substitute one of the other prompts from one of the other tables and write for it instead.

[+] Once you've completed your table, comment on the Completed Claims post, with a link to your completed table. The Completed Claims list will be static at the top of my LJ for the duration of the challenge.

[+] Everyone who completes one of the tables will receive a personalized banner for their effort. As a bonus (depending on the volume of response) I will personally leave you feedback on your fics, even if you choose to write for a fandom I'm not familiar with - so please make sure you send link me to your table when you're done!

[+] You absolutely do not have to be on my friends list to participate in this challenge - the more, the merrier, I say! =)

[+] This challenge will run from June 20th, 2012 until September 23rd, 2012.

hmmmmm...
3 months might just be enough for me to try writing something. it's been long enough and I feel I might have neglected my muses.

if I do write, it'll most likely be original fiction, unless I run across a fandom that just begs to be written for.
we'll see. :)

Yes, it's a literal summer-long challenge. I like to give people as much time as possible, LOL - and original fic is more than welcome! =) You can have a look at last year's round-up if you'd like; this is very much a low-pressure muse-boosting sort of thing.

The word doesn't have to appear in the story, no :)

I just had a very scary idea:
1 story using ALL the tables... O_o

I know that I have no real patience for big projects, but since the text for each prompt is at 100 words minimum, it doesn't really have to be a long story. hmmmm...

let's hope I haven't just managed to scare me out of starting to write with that idea. *giggle*

You can totally do that, LOL! It's just 25 prompts, and a series of drabbles would only be 2,500 words... =)

As I intent to write one chapter per table, do I have to link to each prompt (as stated in the rules) or would one link per table suffice?
