At this point I'll consider it a real shocker if I'm ever able to claim an award in a category outside of Best Mir/San or Best Alt Pairing Romance - I'm really envious of the people who have the skill to do so. Then again, aside from one notable exception that I've seen, it doesn't seem like any Mir/San fic can really do that, so I never know if it's my abilities that are lacking, or my choice in characters. Fandom is such a frustrating thing to try to understand...

I'mma go with option #2 ("my choice in characters"). Hopefully with the efforts we're making to raise the profile of Mir/San fic, it will be considered as worthy of something beyond 'Best Alt Pairing Romance' :) Believe me, you have the skills to win multiple awards, no question about that :)
