Heehee, yes, that's basically exactly where I wanted to go with the piece. I just hope it wasn't *totally* obvious for the other 2265 words, LOL :P
I've been barred from writing advanced author's notes for the pieces I write at dokuga_contest and iyissekiwa, so I've fallen into the habit of saving the posts til after the respective competitions are over. However, I'm hoping the rules are a bit more lax at this comm, because I really miss being able to post the rush of notes right after the story/chapter in question :)
I love reading how people come up with ideas, since I know mine generally spring from NOWHERE at like, 4 in the morning
Honestly, I love meta-writing :) I've based this whole journal around it, after all. I love hearing how people come up with ideas, how they incorporate them, what they like about their writing or what they hate about it, things they had to cut (did you notice it in your read? does it influence the outcome of the story?), etc etc.
Usually my notes are not quite as...rich as these, though, LOL. Following this train of thought was just too much fun to resist sharing, though. I'm constantly influenced by many different things, but to have five of them be so obvious in one little piece? Priceless :) And I usually ruminate over my ideas for quite awhile before sitting down to write them (I guess I write pretty "fast", generally being able to post a version I am satisfied with the same day I actually write it), but this one literally came out of friggin nowhere. I was watching Murder, She Wrote for Godssakes!
I guess sometimes all it takes is getting your mind completely off of things, though...now, if only I could focus these subconscious ruminations on the two drabbles I still owe...I feel bad that I've written on, like, every other project in the world, other than those, since they were requests...
