THIS is where some of the best fics come from. When the muse is left to create something new in and of itself it sometimes surprises you with something fantastic. That's what Fleeting sounds like to me. I thoroughly look forward to reading it once it's complete :)
Aww, are you sure you don't want to suffer along with the other *checks Alerts list* 56 people who have been following this enough to Alert + and/or comment here at LJ? :P It's the good sort of suffering, or so I'm told, LOL.
And, yes, once again this is an idea I never had the smallest twinkling to expand upon, but once the scene for the first prompt popped into my head, I guess I already knew I was lost...and just fighting to admit it. This story has been SO much fun to write, I just can't even say. Even if I never got another response to it, I'd still be having fun, working through all the layers that have been built up. It's definitely been an ambitious project, but one I feel I won't ever suffer under the weight of it - if that makes sense. Keeping the style open and fresh and not putting myself on a timetable to finish it has helped, too.
Your dedication to it that I've followed through your LJ has definitely been an inspiration to me as I'm getting started on my own serial.
Speaking of which, hot damn I hope there's another entry soon! Between you and piratequeen0405 I suppose I have a reason to actually go to that community anymore, LOL.
Maybe someday in the far and distant future I'll be able to put together a post like this too hahaha Very very interesting. Thanks so much for sharing. I always love hearing about a writer's inspiration. It adds a whole new dimension to the piece.
The world can never have enough meta. Even silly stuff, like posting the songs you were listening to while writing, can lend insight into the fic (or at least, that's what I think - but obviously music is intrinsic in my very system, aheh). And sometimes you throw in off-beat references or in-jokes that maybe only one other person would get *shrug* Whatever. Breaking down the story to understand why you wrote it the way you did (beyond "that's just how it came to me in my head") can really help the entire writing process, IMO.
And obviously you're doing something right - I'd get a real kick out of seeing the work and research you've put into LSR because the whole world has just been pieced together so flawlessly and (seemingly) effortlessly. So meta from you would be most interesting, if that's any encouragement :D
