Thanks! I'm not 100% pleased with all of them, but I tried to make them all interesting, in some way. I would've used textures and more images if I had the time, but unfortunately with Paint.NET you are *literally* doing this all by hand, so... :P Its tough, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with this set.
Which one(s) did you think turned out the best?
My favorites are -
Awry, Best Canon Universe, 3rd Place ~ I colored that manga panel myself and am terribly proud, LOL Little Green Men, Best Crossover, 2nd Place ~ I just liked the way this one turned out, considering what I started with Blood Contract, Best Drama, 3rd Place ~ This one turned out closest to what I had in mind, at least when it came to the more complicated "piece these together by hand" ones. Memories of You, Best Romance: Inuyasha/Kagome, 3rd Place ~ I liked the effects filters I used on this one, and the font. Though it didn't turn out exactly as I envisioned, I think my compromise works well. (More importantly, kmoaton liked it!)
One of the other things I tried to be conscious of as I was making these was making them fit into their respective categories - making the darkfic/horror ones dark, the lemon ones sexy, etc etc. Sort of like, an advertisement for the story, you know? That's another reason why I wanted author input or fanart - seeing these somewhere is supposed to make you want to click on the story and find out more, LOL!
