I agree with a lot of the posts here and I have done. My best example is the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Starting out, the series was great and the character was believable but as the series progressed, the author just went away from the characterizations and just made the main character unrecognizable. Looking at blogs, I wasn't the only one who had an issue with the drastic changes. They were too annoying and for me, it made the series unreadable.
