BSC fanfic is made of awesome and win <3 <3 <3 I highly encourage you to read the stories, even if you aren't terribly familiar with canon! They have that ability to just suck you in and make you care about the characters. (Almost all of the ones in this rec post are pre-canon, too, if that helps.)

I have hundreds of IY fics faved that I am making my way through again, just so I can recommend a few to my f-list for fun. ^_^

You totally should!! Recs don't have to just be new fics - sometimes you unearth a treasure years after the fact! =)
