Spotted in the wild: 2020 Baby-sitters Club reprint
As first noted in this post, the regular series BSC books got a fresh reprint this year. I spotted the first five books today at Target:
I double-checked the copyright page and it does appear that these are reprints of the OG series, not the "updated" version from the early 2000s. I'm not feeling the completionist collector on this, probably because the books are so frickin expensive. If there's a box set or if I can get them cheaper somewhere else, they probably will find their way to me, because BSC is the one series that I have collected all the reprints and new covers. What say you?
They are seriously promo-ing the new Netflix series, which I'm not sure I want to watch. (I have a hard time with reboots of what I consider classic series.) If it's ever released on DVD, I will probably cave and buy it, but I'm not paying for a Netflix sub just to watch it.
ETA: Looks like they are re-releasing the first 15 books at least (now through February 2021).

I think the new covers are adorable. They're on my to buy at some point list, though lord knows I don't really need yet another version of them. :p

I bought the books. I wanted to support an indie bookstore. I have 1-6. Going to reread them and I will announce if there are updates.

They are re-releasing the first 15 books (at least), so it is 99.9% likely I will eventually buy these, just hopefully at a better price than $7/book, haha. Unfortunately there are no independent bookstores around me (except secondhand stores) so it's a Major Retailer for me. Fingers crossed for a box set!!
