Oh, wangsty angsty chapter thirteen...are you ready to be unleashed on the masses? :P

This is the first chapter of the next story arc, and as a transition, I think it works pretty well :) I've been sitting on it for the better part of a month, hoping to have the chance to write further ahead in this story before I released it, but alas. Another fandom's muse took over my brain in the interim, and now that it's IYFG bannering time, that means all creative writing will cease until that artsy project finishes (unfortunately :-/). So, in true cruel fashion, I'm going to post this up...and not update for a month. Apologies!!

There is a lot of original material in this chapter, including another dip into my lame-o sense of humor, so not a ton of (new) references to note...but there are a few:

[+] The title song was a cover version of Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam's second hit single, performed by Kenny (quite nicely, I think):

[+] Stacy's performance number was a song the band actually performed on the show. However, if you listen to the original, there is so much more potential there - so I ran with it. Diana Ross and the Supremes were absolutely magical in their heyday, and I think they have a simple sort of sensuality that works well for my characters here.

[+] The members of the baseball team are my original creations. As an amusing aside, they actually sprang fully formed from my imagination, including Ricky "Stubbs" McKinsey, who was a lot of fun to write :P I might just have to find a way to bring him back in the spring when baseball season begins. Hmm...
