Fandom History & Inspiration Meme - Day 6
Jul. 6th, 2011 09:03 amDay 6 – When you write, do you prefer writing male or female characters?
Hmm...I don't really have a preference, honestly. My favorite character varies by fandom (sometimes it's a male, sometimes a female, and sometimes it's an otherwordly being, LOL), and I tend to write for characters I identify with at some level. It's kinda like sliding into someone else's skin, and trying their life on for size, thinking outside of the box :)
I feel fairly comfortable writing characters of both genders. I guess if pressed, I'd say I feel most like a fish out of water when I'm trying to write from a teenage boy's perspective, since I never was a teenage boy and have no real frame of reference. I guess I do okay, though - I've never received a complaint, at least :P
