Baby, stuff my stocking

fandom_stocking is open for business! :D

For those of you who aren't aware, this community is basically a low-pressure, less wanky, laid-back version of Yuletide. You list your fandoms and wants/wishes (fic, icons, art, etc), and others stuff your stocking with goodies! You don't have to be a member of the comm to participate, and it's always fun unwrapping presents well into the New Year, LOL :P

Author’s Note: Written for paynesgrey, on commission for the 2011 help_japan fandom charity auction.

So, this fic was only overdue by seven months (*facepalm*), but finally, the second of my help_japan stories has been completed =) paynesgrey request was simply "I want something Kikyo-centric," so it was up to me to fill in the blanks. After tossing around a couple of ideas, I settled on a pre-canon scenario, because there isn't much background to glean for this incredibly important character. Originally, I was thinking along the lines of writing something about how she became a miko (and even went so far as to do some research in that vein - thanks, KK!), but then Life Happened and this fic was pushed to the wayside.
