Chapter 558: Tomorrow
First things first: JUST KISS ALREADY!

Unfortunately, there's no kiss, just another lame little hugging scene...their very first reunion picture, way back in Chapter 70 of the manga, was much better than this. Sigh. Well, that just means my own reunion scene in Every Heart will just have to make up for it :)
All in all, I have to say I'm pretty happy with this ending. I'm glad I didn't spoil myself (other than seeing a few of the Japanese pages, mostly Miroku and Sango) because it's right on par with the rest of the story. I would have been SO disappointed if I knew there wasn't a kiss before I read it and it probably would've ruined it for me :( But, it fits. The love story was always very tame in comparison with the violence.
I'm very happy to see that my own canon-inspired story fits pretty well with the events of the final chapter. Inuyasha's continual search for Kagome is something I wrote into the Big Reunion Scene (yeah, it's already written - I couldn't wait, all right?!). I'm happy that I'll be able to pay tribute to the final chapter when that event comes through in Every Heart, since I like having manga-inspired scenes or words whenever I can.
I liked Miroku's and Sango's ending, especially their kids playing with Inuyasha's ears - hilarious! I like that he stayed a monk and has more or less teamed up with Inuyasha (and presumably his wife) to continue what they started on their quest for the Shikon Jewel.
Another great moment is forever immortalized in my icon - Sesshoumaru's nasty glare when Kagome calls him brother-in-law. Mwahahaha, Sesshoumaru FOR THE WIN!! Love it!
I was rather surprised to learn that Sesshoumaru left Rin in Kaede's village. I guess that shoots to hell all the prospects of them having an adult relationship as he watches her grow up, eh? He's still looking out for her, though, and that's pretty awesome.
I'm not sure how much I like Kagome going back to live with Inuyasha in the Feudal Era. The whole final arc bugged me because she was basically waiting around for Inuyasha to come save her. I hate that kind of girl, who can't do anything on her own without first seeking permission from the strong male in her life. I wrote a paper about it for my class in Adolescence, no less. So that kinda bugged me.
The rest, though -- pretty cool. It was a fitting end to the story, though it could've been drawn out much, much longer. Part of me wishes it had been, because I love the art so much.
The other part of me can't wait for the promised first kiss scene from KrisCynical :)
