Generalities: Story status updates

And now, time for a metawriting entry!

Apparently a quirk of LJ is that if you post-date an entry it won't show up on friends' lists. Huh. So, if you missed it (and you care), here are the author's notes for my oneshot Dilemma. This piece, originally a contest entry, is a companion to Four Seasons.

Next week I get a merciful break from studies, so here's my agenda regarding my ongoing fics:

First and foremost, I am determined to finish Every Heart. This will involve a complete read-through of the story to make sure I tie up all my loose ends. It irks me that I've gone from updating weekly to updating monthly, but unfortunately, that's life :(

This story is quite near and dear to me, so it will be sad to see it go...and thus, I'm determined to do it with a bang! Wish me luck, and hopefully you will see the fruits of my labor within a fortnight :)

The other major project I'm working on is a piece for [livejournal.com profile] iy_blind; unfortunately this means I can't share any details about it :) But I encourage you to check this community out, it's a great way to get some honest feedback and not feel like you're competing against BNFs who may or may not garner votes on their names alone.

Of course, I have a promised sequel to Memento Mori as well, but my ideas for this are continually changing. I've started drafts several times, but have not been completely happy with them. The major problem is that the oneshot itself is pretty final in nature, so it will be an interesting challenge to work around that ending. I hope I will be successful with that endeavor as I've never done that before LOL.

After I finish Every Heart, I am planning to focus my WiP attention on Nihon Idol, which is considerably lighter fare than the angst-ridden stuff I've been turning out of late. I'm looking forward to developing the relationships in that universe more completely, because there are some good things in store there!
