Here are the stats from the original polls:

This term there was an average of 28 voters (588 votes across 21 polls). Artwork was more popular, overall, than fiction (338 votes across 11 polls, for an average of 37 for art, vs 250 votes across 10 polls, for an average of 25 for fiction).

The most popular art category was Best Kiss (36 votes), followed closely by Best AU/AR (35 votes), and Best Character Portrait (34 votes), whereas the least popular category was Best Yaoi/Yuri (19 votes).

The most popular fic categories were Best Drama and Best Angst (28 votes each), followed closely by Best AU/AR, Best Oneshot, and Best Romance (Inu/Kag) (27 votes each). The least popular category was Best Yaoi/Yuri (17 votes).

For the runoffs, we saw an average of 28 voters (138 votes across 5 polls). All in all, there was an average of 26 voters in all the fiction polls (363 votes cast in 14 different polls), whereas the average for art was slightly higher, at 30 voters (363 votes cast in 12 different polls). That makes the total haul of final clicks a 28, with 726 votes cast across 26 polls in total.

Not bad, but it definitely could be better :)

The polling in the runoffs was much more decisive than in the regular polls (everyone won by a landslide and had double-digit votes).

Yes, I take it as a bit of vindication for losing by one vote at the IYFG, LOL :D

I'm glad its getting some props fandom-wide, especially considering its Sess/Kag.

Actually, Sess/Kag seems to be by far the most populuar. It's harder to win with canon pairings these days.

I suppose it depends on which awards you're paying attention to - or how much they are dominated by single writers (like RosieB) :)

My Inu/Kag stuff has been far, far more popular than my Sess/Kag stuff. If people aren't looking for it specifically, in my experience they aren't as likely to give Sess/Kag a try. Even people who love my Inu/Kag (and other stuff, so I guess general style) won't read my Sess/Kag. Which is fine; everybody's got their preferences!

Or maybe its just because my brand of Sess/Kag (the emotionally heavy yet mostly sexless variety) isn't that popular :P I dunno, just my own experience in the matter.

Most readin Sess/Kag wants lots of mindless sex (since if they thought about it they'd probably kill each other).

I've found that most readers of fanfic, period, want lots of mindless sex. It's part of the reason I'm so shocked my stuff has done as well as it has...

I finally had a chance to read Memento Mori, and I must say, it deserves all the awards it's received, and more. It's probably the single best one-shot fanfic I've ever read.

I don't think I'll ever get used to the amount of praise people have heaped on this fic. It felt like a risk to write the first chapter, and the sequel oneshot came from a rather personal place, so...I'm thrilled when people tell me I managed to do my job and convey the emotions so well.
