I want to especially congratulate those winners from my f-list: doggieearlover, eggplantlady, jennabean_dp, kmoaton, knittingknots, kriscynical, langus_fiction, minerva_one, paynesgrey, piratequeen0405, selinamac, and tallymark!!


This term there was an average of 39 voters (810 votes across 21 polls). Fiction was just a SMIDGE more popular, overall, than artwork (395 votes across 10 polls, for an average of 40 votes for fiction, vs 415 votes across 11 polls, for an average of 38 votes for art).

The most popular art category was Best Character Portrait (44 votes), followed closely by Best Overall Art (43 votes), and Best AU/AR and Best Kiss (41 votes each), whereas the least popular category was Best Yaoi/Yuri (24 votes).

The most popular fic category was Best Oneshot (45 votes), followed closely by Best Lemon (44 votes), and Best AU/AR and Best Drama (43 votes each). The least popular category was Best Yaoi/Yuri (27 votes).

Compare this to the December 2008 term and there is a huge jump in participation ~ almost double in total, and a good 10 extra votes in all the categories. This is a great sign, obviously, and the more people who participate in the voting, the less ties will result - as this time, when there is only one runoff category instead of five.

I do wish the official results list would come out, just so I can check it, but I went over the results twice...so hopefully they are right. There were lots of ties, but they don't break ties unless 3+ fics place.

I am still very much in the shock and denial stage ("Wait, what? That can't be right..."). I was pretty sure that I didn't have a chance of placing in any category, except romance if I was lucky... and then to end up winning for Best Characterization (and placing in Drama and Angst)? Yeah, that blew my mind. And continues to do so. And probably will for some time. LOL

I know what you mean. When I saw I came in third (and tied) for Best Romance, I was like, "No way will I beat KK in a runoff!" so I was happy to see runoffs only happen with three or more fics tie... :P

I'm really happy to see participation almost doubled, at least when it came to voting, this time around. Hopefully that means good things are in store!

Yaoi/Yuri will have a 3 way runoff, which will determine 1st, second and 3rd place.

Lots of 2 way ties, but that's the only tiebreaker to be done. Official list will come out later today.

Now it's really, really ironic that I placed with a Sesshoumaru story and not with an InuYasha story, considering what I usually write...LOL....

I was asked not to release an official results list until this afternoon, mostly so InuYashaloverr and I can double check that we didn't miss anything. We were both kind of tired last night.

I am pretty sure that my output of Sessh/Rin will never come close to what my output of I/K will be...but there will be the occasional piece, like I do the occasional M/S....

Sessh is very hard to write for me...my writing style avoids internal monologue, and Sessh is such a non-communicative person, and demands such perfection from me that even at the best it makes me ages to write him....while Inu knows just how to make me gush forth....LOL.

If he can deal with all the torture I put him through...I think you're fine :) I like the idea of him being a writer, though, since he speaks so little but obviously leads a rather rich inner life - its a good profession for him, different from the usual :)
