Regarding this post:

I was given no warning of being removed as a mod; in fact, I was completely unaware that I was having "disagreements" with the owner of the community. I can't speak for anyone else involved, but that's the truth of the matter from my perspective.

Needless to say, I am very upset and disappointed by this, and have ended my association not only with the community, but also with the website.

I'm trying to get our prompts list back from her at the very least. If they want to start anew, they can do it from the ground up.

Apparently by breathing, I pissed her off.

Actually, I joined with doggieearlover & eggplantlady in an effort to revive her community after she posted that she had no time for it anymore. After we did all the hard work of organizing the community, coming up with prompts for the whole year, and making banners (seriously, I made participant banners for almost the whole year), not to mention actually running it (posting reminders, prompts, polls, and results), she decided to reassert her control over the community and - as I have just learned - kicked us all out without warning.

Drama-free zone, indeed.

Not to mention maturity-free, apparently - I asked her to give us our prompts list back, and she said (and I quote):

"Nope...beg all you want."

Aww, she deleted the comments. -is disappointed- Though I'm not too surprised that mine was removed (since it may have been ever so slightly barbed and sarcastic >_>)... Hell, screw that. I'm not surprised at all that she removed the comments. Can't have the truth getting out about the way she used and abused her former "mod team", can she?

Yes, they apparently have these Yahoo lists for the various sites (and a mod group), and its much the same there - the same three people will make decisions and then just announce it to the group, attaching everyone's name like we all had a say in it or something. So there was a lot of "...WTF?!" to go around.

I am just ... absolutely dumbfounded. It seems everywhere I look these days, someone in the IY fandom gets a case of the batshit insane cooties. Do. Not. Want.

I was really planning to join that community as soon as BWM is finished because it seemed like a good way to exercise my writing skills, but I am just going to stay the hell away from it and every other little writing community. All of the frustration and irritation and craziness has really taken a toll on my enjoyment of both reading and writing for this fandom and I refuse to let other people kill my love. If anyone wants me, I'll be playing with my plushies and action figures.

Create a new community and I'll follow along, maybe even write. I say use all the same prompts on the same schedule as her too! It'd be fun. That's what I'd do anyway :)

Anyway, this is spreading like wildfire and I think she'll end up seeing a massive decline in her community. All of my communities have de-affiliated with her. and good for you for keeping documentation.

I'm coming into this at the very end, but I did want to say that I'm really sad that y'all are having to deal with this crap. It's things like this that make the fandom. Paynesgray has a fabu icon that says it all!
