What are five stories you wish you could write, but can't?
In no particular order:
* a tennis AU: It would only seem natural, a combination of my two absolutely favorite things in the world, but...yeah. Logistics would be hell. I've actually written a tennis fic before, on an epic!LOL scale no less, but it broke half a dozen good fic rules (self-inserts, script format, breaking into song at random intervals, etc). This year's Roland Garros storylines have been fan-fucking-tastic, and I even know which players I'd choose to parallel the Inuyasha characters; I just don't think I could write an 'action' scene of a tennis match without boring people to tears. It's very much a visual, visceral game.
* a sequel to Every Heart: I've mulled over this for quite awhile, and I even have some vague storyline sketches of ideas. My main fear with this is that it wouldn't really be an Inuyasha fanfic - the main storyline would focus on the Sesshoumaru/Snegura pairing, and I can already hear the cries of OMG MarySue!fic *rolls eyes* So, yeah - that's what's currently keeping this on the back burner, though I may eventually write it, just to get it out of my head. Russian mythic lore still calls to me...
* The Wrong Ending: OMG I want to write this story so bad! I've almost started it half a dozen times. There are currently four fragments of it floating around out there in my catch-all collection. What's stopping me? The sheer fact that I don't want to start another story until I've finished at least one of my current WIPs. I like having multiple projects at once, but starting another one while three are in production feels like overkill :-/
* my requests: man, but you guys gave me some challenging requests!! I've been thinking over the prompts, but nothing has solidified in my mind just yet. I feel guilty having asked for them, and yet am taking so long to deliver - but I really enjoy writing a short fic to personalized standards :) I do hope you guys will be patient with me! :-/
* a Mir/San lemon: Here's a bundle of my worst fears - writing an unfamiliar plot (device) for unfamiliar pairing. I've written some citrus in preparation for the end of Fleeting (let's just say, I always want my angst to pay off in the end, LOL!), so I'm feeling better about that aspect, but I have no idea how I'd approach it with this pairing. Luckily, I have the rest of the month to tinker with the idea before our challenge ends over at
mirsanficart...so we'll see, if this is on the "temporary can't finish" pile, or is shifted over to the "is likely never to happen" black hole of wasted ideas.

Hey now... you're not the only one with requested fic just waiting to be finished...
*stares at flash drive*
I completely know how you feel - there are specific standards to be me in a short fic.
Take all the time you need!

I thought you had made some progress on Wrong Ending.
I still think the people who followed Every Heart might follow a Sesshoumaru sequel.
I am not worried about my request. If you have time, you will get around to it.

Indeed - but I also know how difficult it would be to describe actual matchplay in such a way that the reader wouldn't find it utterly boring. We'll see - with Wimbledon coming up as well, I'm sure to be inundated with more ideas (though I channeled all this energy/effort last year into Every Heart :P)

I'm writing it constantly in my head, but I don't want to commit it to paper...or publish it just yet...not until something else is done.

:) Yes, I had a few people show some interest in it, especially with the possibilities of "going there" with the Sess/Rin pairing - but a great deal of what I've sketched out is exploring Snegura's character, and I'm not sure how well that would be received. She's not a Mary Sue, I think I proved that in the original fic, but she also didn't have an overwhelming role, either - I tried to make that as much of an ensemble piece as I could.

It's not having the time, but trying to think of an idea that fits all the parameters! You know me - come up with something and then justify, justify, justify :P I'm glad you're patient, though!! =)

Now that's an original idea. You're right, though: it's impossible to describe tennis in writing well. But I'd like to see a oneshot from you before you consign that plot bunneh to the Black Hole *begging eyes*

Oh, I'm not worried about this at all, if you ask me. I'm sure you'll pull it off with - what does your icon say? - effortless grace. *winks*

LOL, we'll see - I can't hardly seem to write oneshots anymore these days; my ideas take flight almost as soon as they're born. I got around this in my previous crack!fic by lampooning the commentators, but that's kinda hard to work into a 'serious' piece of writing.

Eh, we'll see - the smut muse is still churning over ideas for the end of Fleeting, and I don't want to 'reuse' scenarios because that feels like cheating...
