The best laid plans of mice and men...
So. Its approximately 8 days until Christmas (o.O I know), and I have yet to post any of the promised holiday Sess/Kag series I was so excited about (and even conducted research for). And...
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be writing it. :(
You know how life has a habit of getting in your fandom way? LOL, well, that's what happened to me. In the month since I conceived that series, I've acquired a full-time job (which, including travel time, amounts to 12-hour days, five days a week) and I've started extensive renovations on my living space on the weekends - both of which have unsettled my muses greatly, especially moving out of my room and becoming, in effect, a nomad in my own house. Not fun, for fleeting inspirations which require comfortable environs in which to flourish - or for someone who just craves privacy :-/
I literally haven't had adequate time to -sleep-, much less do anything creative.
There is good news, however! I did make a complete outline of the story (events in place and sequence), and I have a veritable notebook full of inspiration pieces, so this thing will eventually come to fruition. Whether that means after the holidays, in July, or even next Christmas ~ the elements are there, waiting to be molded and shaped into place.
Because I put off work on my current WIPs in order to devote time and headspace to this, that means I have officially reverted back. Besides working on my MiroSanta exchange piece (which means I *will* have something holiday themed to offer this year), I am hoping that I will have the next chapter of Fleeting out by the end of the year. If all goes well, hopefully another piece of Fragments will be ready as well.
I know what needs to happen in both stories, but its just a matter of the characters speaking to me again. (They...don't like it when I put them through the wringer, heh). I seem to have placated Sesshoumaru a bit with Dream Lover (although, in his Very Special Way, he is still grumbling about what's left for him in Fleeting), and where he goes, my Sango muse follows.
So - huzzah! I might just post fic worth reading again in the foreseeable future!

This implies that you've posted fic not worth reading, which is decidedly untrue.

I was *so* looking forward to this, too, because I don't usually write light-hearted comedy pieces. *slides eyes towards Nihon Idol* With good reason, LOL.
And yeah, it was like ~ once I gave myself permission to miss this self-imposed deadline, the muses unclenched. I felt much better about the whole thing, even though I hope folks aren't terribly disappointed :-/
I am shamelessly looking forward to more of Fragments, though. LOL
LOL! :D I've known what's happening since I posted the last piece, but again - waiting for the emotions to settle so it'll be just right. That universe has grown so far beyond what I ever anticipated...

We'll just have to agree to disagree? Heh, I've also been looking back over some of the things I haven't posted (or have taken down), so perhaps that colors my opinion.

so, does that mean you'll be writing Sess/San next? ;}
And I know all about moving upsetting the muses. Don't worry - I'm sure they'll eventually come back. If it's like mine - with a vengence!

Not likely. My Sess muse feeds my Sango muse; they are almost one and the same in my head. Which I find amusing, since apparently I write Sango very well but don't have the same luck with Sesshoumaru. LOL okay!

They're trying to already, but its a matter of carving out time to indulge them. That's hard to do when you spend most of your time away from your primary writing environment! (Though the 100-mile round trip drive to work is a good time to incubate ideas...)

I used to get a lot of ideas worked out in my head in Dallas traffic. I didn't have to drive as far as you, but it still usually took 45 minutes on average each way - longer if there was any traffic tieups. Anyway, when you drive the same route every day you don't really have to pay that much attention - or at least it seemed like I was driving by rote half the time. You learn to make what use of your time in the car you can since you can't do much else, anyway.

*fangirls* I love Fragments so much and... this makes me happy. XD

I want your wringer. You manage to extract all the good stuff from them (mine require coercion and don't even perform in the end, LOL!)
And I second what

I knew a few weeks in advance that I'd be starting a new job, and I anticipated that quite a bit of my time would be taken up by it (though - not quite this much o.O), so I made sure I had an outline to work from.
And then all hell broke loose, unfortunately. But I posted some smut, and a little drabble for
But - yeah. This idea isn't going anywhere; it's just going to take more time to develop to a point where I'm happy with it.

Hooray! LOL :P
Gotta put out another Fleeting installment first, though. I feel bad for neglecting it ~ its like my baby.

LOL - you think I don't have to bribe them, too? ZOMG Sesshoumaru can pitch a right big hissy fit when he wants to (though, admittedly, its not so much a 'fit' as 'I'm not even going to acknowledge you right now, GDI'), and he has done that a few times during our journey through Fleeting. But I'm patient, because I know eventually I'll get what I want from him. Goodness knows I've worked on him long enough...

So excited about the possibility of an update. :D

I definitely look forward to reading more Fleeting, have been missing that one!
