Here's one of the few pieces I've been able to write in the last month, around my crazy busy schedule. It was refreshing to write a drabble again, for a change - sometimes word limits are Very Good Things, indeed.
There isn't much to say about this piece ~ it's basically just a snapshot of early married life/parenthood, for the only canon couple to actually go through these stages during the time of the manga, albeit off-screen. It's pure, unadulterated fluff at its finest, which is something I don't write very often. I can only hope that when the fluff bunnies do get a hold of my muse, they produce something worth reading :P Considering this was pretty much the only piece submitted for the weekly contest that wasn't angst-laden, perhaps its no surprise it came in dead last in the voting :P
I think Miroku would be a very thoughtful, caring father, if his character's growth over the course of the manga is anything to go by. He fought too hard and attempted to sacrifice too much to not take care of his obligations when his wishes finally came true. I think his love for Sango is all-encompassing, and that would include helping her with the little chores and tasks still deemed "woman's work". Besides, who can resist a mental image of Miroku holding a baby? :D I know I can't!
I think Sango would have a harder time adjusting to family life, considering the way she was raised, and everything she went through, in losing her family and then seeking revenge for that loss. I just have a really hard time seeing her hang it up for good, and I think that would lead to her having a harder time than maybe any other village woman, adjusting to life as a new mother ~ especially of unexpected twins, LOL.
So, there you have it - a sweet little slice-of-life portrait of the canon married couple, and just in time for the holidays, too. Enjoy!
