Finally, we've reached the end of the 5x8 episode remix! LOL, I never realized it was going to be *quite* this long (and/or tedious), but in the long run, using this episode's storyline really helped me out of a jam. I thought it was rather clever the way I pulled in a few of the scenes, especially the ones in this chapter. My readers have been mostly silent on the matter, so I dunno if I'm as successful as I think I am, LOL :P
There are lots of other references to get to this week, so without further ado...!
[+] Here's the episode again, this time with scenes taken from the second half:
[+] The title song is another one of Ryan's solos ~ and, in spite of the 'Disney-fied' lyrics, one of my favorite performances of his. This will definitely have its place in the story later on :D
BONUS! Stacy's outfit from this chapter is the one she's wearing here.
[+] Music Room #3 is a reference to Ouran High School Host Club...mostly because I couldn't resist :P
[+] Julliard's requirements can be found on their official website. I am using the requirements laid out for the 2010-11 school year, but I really can't imagine that these particular pieces of the process have changed in 25 years. If anybody out there wants to correct me, please feel free.
Basically, Ryan will be going through this process:
The other facts/figures from the story are all true and relevant, at least for today's standard. (This is what I get for being curious, LOL! Although foregoing the handwaving has only helped the development of the story, so huzzah!)
[+] The Midwestern conservatory that accepted Gloria is Oberlin Conservatory. This is actually one of my alma mater's "sister" schools, and I had a very good friend who attended. It is a quite prestigious conservatory, so getting in is nothing to turn one's nose up at. No mention was made of where Gloria attended school in the canon (it was mentioned in the 4x1 episode, "A Kid's Line"), but I figured she was far away if the only communication she had with the other kids was snail mail :P
Next week's chapter will be double-length, which is probably a good thing...considering I'm in the midst of the fortnight from hell, LOL. Either way ~ enjoy! =)
I love this
I also love the oneshot that goes along with this, although, it's kind of strange, knowing how this is probably going to end, before you're even half-way through.
And I am still in shock that this (http://arisjanetakos.com/dawne/KidsInc/MonsterSquad.html) is Ryan Lambert.
Re: I love this
Soooo glad to hear you're enjoying the story! It's about 1/3 of the way finished, so there's still plenty more in the works :) My muse has been flitting off to different things these last few weeks, but hopefully its going to settle down again, because I *love* working in this universe :D

I don't know if you read the notes for that piece, but it's not really "spoiling" the ending of Stacy in Bloom ~ I couldn't do that, and I couldn't really put my characters through all this grief, only to have them ending up miserable. So its more of a 'companion' piece than a direct sequel, a 'what if...?' scenario. (Mostly because I needed some angst that wasn't quite fitting with what was going on in SiB to begin with :P)

A fellow Ryan fan? *holds back squee, just in case*
Those caps are pretty horrible. Here's an interview done with the cast at Comic Con '07. He looks geeky, but not quite that bad IRL, LOL :P
Re: I love this
And yes I adore Ryan Lambert. I had a Monster Squad sweatshirt when the movie first came out, and wore it every chance I got... although no-one else seemed to know what it was for. It just seems like he's cultivating the 'absent-minded professor' look now.
Also, in chapter six, the description of Stacy's outfit sounds familiar. Did she actually wear that on the show at one time?

Re: I love this
=) I totally agree, LOL ~ Season 5 was a little ridiculous with all the blatant subtext. I always give my couples happy endings, even if I tend to make them work for it a little bit first ;)
And yes I adore Ryan Lambert.
*squee* OMG. You have no idea how much I've been dying to have someone else to squee over him with! Because I probably had the longest crush on him than on anybody else in my life when I was a kid. I...don't even think he looks all that bad now, considering he's (*gulp*) 40 o.O I'm just glad he's doing what he wants to do and he's happy, you know?

All of Stacy's outfits that I've described have been outfits she wore on the show. That one was from the episode 'The Frog Prince', and the one in the latest chapter (the red mini dress) is actually one from 1985, from one of their very first duets together.
Also, forgot to say, I love the new chapter, although I am wondering what's up with Brian... Is he jealous?
Brian definitely has ulterior motives...
Re: I love this
I watched the Frog Prince video, and for a while it was hard to tell whether she was wearing a skirt, or shorts.
And as for the ulterior motives, all I can say is I can't wait to see what's the driving force behind Brian's dirty looks.
Also, I wrote my own KI story, and I was wondering if you'd mind giving me an opinion. If not, no problem, but I really would like to know what you think of it.

Re: I love this
I know what you mean. Especially now that Adam Lambert is so popular, half the time people confuse the two o.O But yay! Another Ryan fangirl! There can never be too many, LOL.

It's a testament to how much I've rewatched canon that I, uh, notice those sorts of things. And all the editing mistakes, LOL.

Sure thing! =) I'll try to read it sometime soon, and when I do, I'll leave you a comment either here or there. (I don't have an insanejournal, so...)
