Odds & Ends

So, uh, yeah - I'm still alive. Slowly but surely, life is piecing itself back together, and as the chaos subsides, my will and drive for creativity and fandom is returning :) Even though I'm really far behind in my projects, I've retained some optimism about them - everything was pretty much just put in stasis, instead of being lost to the ether. Remember this list? Yeah, it's still active - and my goal for this week is to finish my first help_japan commission, especially because I feel absolutely horrible about how long its taken me to write it already :-/

My track record with commissions and giftfics is terrible...and as if to prove my own point, it's taken me three weeks to revise the notes for my last posted piece, which was also a giftfic *facepalm* But they're up, and they're much better, so that's progress, yes? Hopefully this bit of meta writing will help the actual fic-writing flow...*crosses fingers* I feel miserable when I'm not able to write.

On another, happier note ~ I've never participated in one of these LJ-wide comment-thread memes before, but damn do I need a pick-me-up right now. So if you're so inclined...

Thanks =) Real life has been pure chaos these last three or so weeks, to the point where I've been concentrating on getting through the day...but anytime I'm forced out of my fun stuff, including writing, I just kinda spiral into yuckyness, and it's a vicious cycle. It's been like pulling teeth to get through the research for this help_japan story, but I'm finally getting to a place where I think I could write and not automatically hate it. Hmm....

Heh, you've probably seen more of me than anybody else these last couple of weeks :P

Oh, I still owe a giftfic I promised my 100th reviewer for Fleeting over a year ago, which I'm nowhere close to completing *cringe* I'm hoping to have something done for her birthday this year, but that might not happen either, considering her birthday's in June and that's, er, in two weeks :-X

I'm hoping that my foray back into IY to write your help_japan fic will inspire me to stay there long enough to write her piece, and maybe finish off some of my IY stuff. We'll see.

Still. This is why I don't sign up for stuff like this, because I am terrible at following through in a timely manner. Hence my already-heavy thoughts about whether or not to do Yuletide this year! :P
