Signal Boost: FanLib, take three (or is that four?)

In the "grand" tradition of FanLib - that is, attempting to make money by exploiting fanfic writers - comes the latest clunky attempt, in the form of Fanfic.me. [personal profile] watersword has been investigating, and the results are pretty disturbing. Be aware, folks.

OMG the site and graphics are terrible. My eyes! I probably never would have registered here even before I knew they were exploiting fanficcers for money. Yikes!

I haven't seen the site itself, but you're not the only one with this opinion, LOL. That, and trying to pass off the free WordPress plug-in doohickeys as their own just SCREAMS stupid at me. Hopefully this place will just go away on its own, but there is some concern that they're scraping content from FF.net and other, reputable archives, so I'm going to keep my eye on this, I think.

Yikes! I hope not. I'll have to watch for it too. I like posting at FFnet, LJ and AO3 and I usually don't bother anywhere else. However, I don't like my info being snatched from other places without my knowledge, especially a place like this.
