[+] It is with much regret that I must announce my resignation as IYFG banner maker. After much consideration, I realize that I don't have the same sort of time to devote to fannish pursuits as I used to - between 12 hour days and daily 100-mile round trips to work, I am left with precious little free time anymore, and frankly, I'd rather spend it doing something I find relaxing and fun (like creating fanworks, or reveling in my reading/watching/doing of it all), instead of feeling the pressure to meet a 'deadline' for an ever-increasing set of banners for stories I know little or nothing about. As anyone who glances at this journal can attest, my fannish horizons have expanded of late, and I hate having to put my personal projects on hold for a month to make banners. I'm looking to pare down all of the administrative work I do for IY fandom by the end of the year, but between now and then, I have a lot more on my plate than I anticipated o.O
I looked back to see when exactly I'd taken this job, and it turns out it was only five months ago. My, how things change...
[+] Allow me to sing the praises of FF.net for a moment. I am a klutzy moron, and I broke the USB stick that held the backup of all my fic yesterday (and some fic that wasn't backed up). So not only did I have to invest in a new USB (luckily, I found a bargain), but I had to obtain copies of almost all my non-IY fic. Luckily, a simple copy/paste from FF.net saved *all* of my formatting, for which I am forever grateful (believe me - 50K words into a multichapter fic and I don't have to go back and re-italicize or bold everything? I was jumping for frickin' joy).
[+] Here lies the 30-day shipping meme, yoinked from
paynesgrey. I love stuff like this, but fear I don't have a great variation in ships that will make it especially interesting :-/ Either way, I thought it'd be fun, and a way to post something potentially substantial everyday, so here we go!
