It's been awhile since I've been able to do this =)

First of all, I'd like to thank [livejournal.com profile] paynesgrey for nominating my story, "No Ordinary Woman," during the March 2011 session of the FA awards. It garnered enough votes to earn third place in its category, Best Oneshot, and earned me a (*squee*) beautiful banner, which you can see under the cut ). Thanks so much to everyone who read and/or voted for the story! It means a lot to me, especially considering the person I wrote it for never even acknowledged its existence :-/ I'm glad someone found some enjoyment in it :)

And, apparently, the accolades don't stop there. Both "No Ordinary Woman" and my little ficlet "In Tribute" have been nominated for the 1st Term 2011 of the IYFG awards! Here are my nods (and some love for those who nominated):

Best Canon: "No Ordinary Woman," nominated by [livejournal.com profile] replicantangel
Best Oneshot: "No Ordinary Woman," nominated by [livejournal.com profile] landofthekwt
Best Short-Short: "In Tribute," nominated by [livejournal.com profile] psyco_chick32

Wow! Many, many thanks to those who nominated me. It's nice to know people still enjoy my IY fic, even though it's been very few and far between these days. You guys are awesome =)

Check out all of the nominees here. Congratulations, and best of luck to everyone whose work is up for an award!

[+] It is with much regret that I must announce my resignation as IYFG banner maker. After much consideration, I realize that I don't have the same sort of time to devote to fannish pursuits as I used to - between 12 hour days and daily 100-mile round trips to work, I am left with precious little free time anymore, and frankly, I'd rather spend it doing something I find relaxing and fun (like creating fanworks, or reveling in my reading/watching/doing of it all), instead of feeling the pressure to meet a 'deadline' for an ever-increasing set of banners for stories I know little or nothing about. As anyone who glances at this journal can attest, my fannish horizons have expanded of late, and I hate having to put my personal projects on hold for a month to make banners. I'm looking to pare down all of the administrative work I do for IY fandom by the end of the year, but between now and then, I have a lot more on my plate than I anticipated o.O

I looked back to see when exactly I'd taken this job, and it turns out it was only five months ago. My, how things change...

[+] Allow me to sing the praises of FF.net for a moment. I am a klutzy moron, and I broke the USB stick that held the backup of all my fic yesterday (and some fic that wasn't backed up). So not only did I have to invest in a new USB (luckily, I found a bargain), but I had to obtain copies of almost all my non-IY fic. Luckily, a simple copy/paste from FF.net saved *all* of my formatting, for which I am forever grateful (believe me - 50K words into a multichapter fic and I don't have to go back and re-italicize or bold everything? I was jumping for frickin' joy).

[+] Here lies the 30-day shipping meme, yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] paynesgrey. I love stuff like this, but fear I don't have a great variation in ships that will make it especially interesting :-/ Either way, I thought it'd be fun, and a way to post something potentially substantial everyday, so here we go!

I don't have any minions this time, so this is taking a bit longer than anticipated, but here's an update on the IYFG 2nd Quarter 2010 banner status:

61 images pulled | 18 categories (none completed)

This includes securing permission to use non-solicited/requested fanart (which makes my life so much easier, especially for the Romance categories - thank you, fanartists!), so hopefully this batch will be worth waiting for.

Congratulations to all the winners of the IYFG 2nd Quarter 2010! (The complete list can be found here.)

I figure that nobody knows their stories better than the authors, and in order to give you a prize banner you'd be proud to display, I'd like to have your input! Please let me know if you have one of the following:

(1) Fanart for your story, drawn by yourself or others
(2) A specific character or image in mind, from any source of "official" artwork
(3) **Crossover winners**: specific details, descriptions, or images from your crossover canon universe

If you have one of the following and you'd like me to use it on your banner, please comment on this LJ post (anon commenting on my LJ is open, and this post is public), with the following:

(1) a LINK to the image
(2) PERMISSION FROM and CREDIT TO the artist of the piece, if fanart or doujinshi
(3) a description of the manga or anime arc you'd like me to cap a picture from

Please respond within the next week or two, if you'd like to have input in your banners. If I don't hear from you by September 5th, I'm assuming that means I can have creative freedom to do whatever I want with it, and you won't bitch about the end result =)

Banners will eventually be displayed on the IYFG website for all to admire. I will also post them here to LJ when they're done. Right now, I do not have a timeline for completion, but I am shooting for them to be done by the end of next month.
