On being in a small fandom

[personal profile] dagas_isa posted a great piece of meta for [community profile] month_of_meta last night, and it's like s/he practically read my mind, LOL: 10 things about living in a small-fandom town. You know its gonna be good when the first point is tearing down Yuletide to what it actually is, instead of what it supposedly ~stands for~ :P

I read both these articles you shared and really enjoyed them. I totally love the small fandom feel. I've been in a few, and I truly agree with the reviews mean more, and your stuff will always come up more in searches (because it's more obscure, therefore those who specifically search for it, find it).

I always felt this way in the Gals! fandom, which is totally obscure (though it's had its fair share of wank on FFnet for shipping, but what fandom doesn't?) but I've gotten some of my BEST reviews on that story I wrote for the fandom. Same thing goes for the Unnatural History fandom. The smaller, the better the responses tend to be!
