Just a misc update...

inuyashaxkagome, they have two exciting projects in the works: a manga discussion group, and an art/fic contest to "fill in" the missing moments from the final chapter. It all sounds terribly interesting, and I'm hoping to participate. I have a lot of other stuff on my plate, though, not the least of which is trying to wrap up the two current fics I have running.
Speaking of fantastic artwork, though, I have to give it to
kriscynical -- she's got some wonderful stuff up, and she's coloring her latest sketches for the end of the manga. Even though July is my worst month finances wise, I'm probably going to end up purchasing a print of The Kiss. She's that good.

I'm writing out the next chapter of Every Heart, and I won't lie - it's pretty frustrating. Have you ever had one of those chapters where you know what you want to say but you don't know how to say it? yeah, that's totally happening to me right now. I'm on a pretty tight schedule to update, but I'm at a tricky spot in the story. I'm probably going to have to divide the current chapter I'm working on into two just to keep up with the current pace. Right now I'm leaning towards getting out a complete rough draft before deciding how to split it up.
I'm trying to keep up with the pace I originally set for myself, to update every 7-10 days, because I want to keep my readers interested. I don't get a ton of reviews, but I do get about 150 hits a week, so I know the eyes are seeing it. I actually printed out a hard copy, so I could work on new chapters even when I'm away from the computer, and it was over 100 pages o_O I think we tend to lose sight of complete story length when we work on a chapter basis, so now I'm even more grateful to my readers!
I have one very dedicated reviewer and I'm incredibly grateful for the kind words as each chapter goes up. Hopefully s/he will stick with me til the end, because I'm tempted to dedicate the final chapter to him/her out of sheer gratefulness. I write mainly for myself, but it helps to have a cheerleader among the readers to keep the motivation levels high :)
As for Nihon Idol, it's something I'm mostly doing in my spare time (what little of it there is!), because it is relatively easy to work on. This third chapter is more or less **completely** divergent from the storyline of Instant Star, however, so it's requiring a bit more original work and thus, will probably get shoved to the back burner this week.

This chapter I'm working on is introducing my final original character and I'm walking that very fine line. I don't know why I'm so nervous about this one being a Mary Sue; my villain, and all the others I've introduced so far in small supporting roles, haven't been.
