iyfic_contest Week 155 | Quote Challenge (2nd Place)

Well, I've joined another contest group :) I'm laughing a bit at myself, because I've never been good at writing for prompts, but there have been some interesting ones tossed out of late. I saw this one and couldn't resist -- I joined the group just to submit this piece!
It's quite different from anything else I've written, mostly because its so short. I am incredibly long-winded, I admit that freely. I've never been talented packing the punch into a set amount of words (so it will be interesting to see if I can respond to the word-limited prompts in the coming weeks), but somehow, this one just came out short. Under 500 words, the first time I've accomplished that in my fanfiction writing career, LOL :)
I worked up several ideas for this theme, but rejected them all. I was really hoping to write a Sess/Kag piece, actually (one of my goals for the future, to expand my repertoire of pairings), but alas...it was not to be (this time). This idea actually came from watching the anime. I've been doing that, watching the series in order, to give myself a re-crash-course in the storyline so I can continue with Every Heart. I watched the Jinenji episode last night, and the ending of it really struck me...Inuyasha realizes that Kagome has become a natural part of his life. It was a very sweet moment, and I thought it fit perfectly with the theme of the contest this week.
So, this piece is about the first time Inuyasha realizes he thinks Kagome is beautiful :) Short, sweet, and to the point.
I will be posting all of these short contest entries into a collection on my fanfic archives, after I'm allowed to do so (the pieces must be new and written for the prompts), so this entry will be edited to reflect that. How I'm going to put them on my master fic list remains to be seen...
