O.O Wow, I'd just like to take a moment and thank everyone who voted for Memento Mori. Given its competition, I was sure it had no chance...and instead it blew every other piece out of the water. Considering the last few weeks I've had, the smile that brought to my face was a very welcome one, indeed. Thank you, for the bottom of my heart - I really appreciate the support this piece has received, from all corners of the fandom :)

Also, many congratulations to the winners on my f-list: [livejournal.com profile] knittingknots, [livejournal.com profile] doggieearlover, [livejournal.com profile] madmiko, [livejournal.com profile] flametwirler, & [livejournal.com profile] caitriona695!!

For this poll, there was an average of 41 voters (827 votes across 20 polls). The most popular categories were Best Action/Adventure (57 votes), Best Serial (54 votes), and Best AU/AR (52 votes), whereas the least popular categories were Best Songfic/Poemfic (20 votes), Best Yaoi (23 votes), and Best Poem (27 votes).

Biggest hauls:

By Author:
[livejournal.com profile] fenikkusuken - 3
[livejournal.com profile] forthrightly - 2
[livejournal.com profile] knittingknots - 2

By story:
The Phoenix Blade: Time Lapse by [livejournal.com profile] fenikkusuken - 2

Given the relevant discussions going on on-list right now, here are the stats for the categories with rollovers:

Best Poemfic/Songfic - 2 choices (of a potential 4) - 20 votes [rolled over twice]
Best Yaoi/Yuri - 3 choices (of a potential 4) - 23 votes [rolled over twice]
Best Poem - 3 choices (of a potential 4) - 27 votes [rolled over once]
Best Romance (Mir/San) - 3 choices (of a potential 4) - 39 votes [rolled over once]
Best Original Character - 2 choices (of a potential 4) - 47 votes [rolled over once]

I hope to finish preparing all the stats for the 2008 calendar year, so that there is a chance for comparison. Perhaps these will prove useful in determining the future of certain categories, voting policies, and participation drives for the Guild.

LOL! Probably something along the same lines as what I say every time I realize I've been nominated :)

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. It's been a good start at least.

Congrats. Another deserved award for Memento Mori.
It is clear from your statistics that rollover creates fewer choices in the end of the year voting. The balloting was very close. Some of the winners won by only one vote. I suppose this is to be expected when you put the best head to head. There is no result I could not live with (though I would have liked to see britedark win).

Congrats to you, girl! Yay!

Congrats on a well-deserved win!!

Well, that's the second consecutive year it's won, and I'd really like it to go out on top. I'm the same way showing dogs - I hate it when someone keeps dragging the same animal around year after year, and it goes from being number one on a downward spiral because after awhile, the judges are ready for some new blood, and sometimes the poor dog just gets tired of being on the road. So, I'd like to quit while I'm ahead in this category. I also feel with the new community there'll be more to choose from in the future.

Though I am sad to pull it right when it's getting really interesting for Sango and Miroku. I've been developing their relationship for a long time, and it's just finally got to what some really consider romance (i.e. sex). Personally, I think the relationship building is just as important as the sex part of it.

Yes, it'll still be available for other categories where appropriate, just not Mir/San. I'm absolutely thrilled it won two years in a row, so I'll gracefully withdraw it from further consideration.
