Miscellaneous: Story status updates
So I have good news and bad news - which do you want first? I'll even be nice and let you pick your poison:
The good news: the next installment of Allegiance will be up very soon! A version of it is sitting at a contest community as we speak, but as per usual, it will be revised a bit before becoming part of the 'official' series collection. I'm thrilled to have written for this series again, after letting it languish for yet another month :-/ and hope to be finding a permanent home for it again, soon.
The bad news: that's the only update on any of my current WIPs I can promise for the foreseeable future.
RL is literally beating me with a stick right now, and the academic brain has firmly taken hold. I've looked through the rest of the month and I'll literally have no time to devote to any of my series, including Nihon Idol and Fleeting. So, I apologize in advance for the distinct lack of updates on both; it upsets me just as much as it does you guys, because I like having a steady creative pace to counterbalance all the data analyses I do during the day. :P
I am hoping this self-imposed hiatus will be short, but can make no promises. At the very top of my agenda the next time I have a period of free time is working on the next chapter of Nihon Idol - I'm very excited about the turn of the plot, and getting a chance to work not only on some Inu/Kag, but some Mir/San as well.
#2 on the list is the next installment of Fleeting; there are currently several paths I'm contemplating, trying to figure out how best to move the story forward and yet keep the speculations alive :) Usually the muses are awake and working on these things in the background, but unfortunately, not so much this time (thanks fandom dramaz *eyeroll*).
I'll still be here on LJ, reading and supporting my favorite authors, running my comms, and maybe posting the occasional short fic for a contest (I never say I'm stopping completely - you can never tell when the muses will bust out again!!), but I wanted to let you guys know what was up, especially everyone who's been so supportive of Fleeting. I really appreciate it, and hope I can count on you to stay patient just a little while longer :)
ALSO: I haven't forgotten my open challenge thread, and thanks to everyone who requested something from me. Those are pretty top priority as well, and may have a better chance of sneaking out over this hella busy time period than anything else (as they are standalone pieces).
