Sengoku Jidai Times - the fandom LJ newsletter
I have a fair mix of people on my f-list, I think, oldsters and newbies alike to the fandom. As some of you may already be aware, we have a fandom newsletter that's published weekly here at LJ. I've just taken over as the fanfiction editor, and I'm trying to get everything organized, LOL. I just made a plea post at the comm, but I wanted to get as much input as possible - I'd like for the newsletter to cover the variety of the fandom, not necessarily just the parts I'm interested in ;) So please, take a look, and give me some feedback (there, not here), especially on the authors' watch list.

And are you asking for suggestions of other authors for the newsletter to watch? What kind of criteria do you have for that? I was rather surprised to see my name on the list there since my writing is 95% crossovers.

Go to the community's profile page and it'll be the second option in the upper right-hand corner. Just click "watch" and it will be added to your f-list :)

The only criteria I know of is that the writing be quality. Most of the authors on the watch list have won awards (which is how they got on the watch list to begin with, I suspect :P), but if there's someone out there whose work you love that you feel isn't getting the recognition they maybe deserve, drop us a line and we'll add them to our author alert list.

I'm contemplating going through the results of the IYFG awards this time around and adding all those authors to the lists, if they aren't there already. We'll see if I still feel this ambitious once the voting actually closes, LOL.
