Because I have *fantastic* timing...
...I would have this all ready to go on a holiday weekend *facepalm*
I have been a busy little bee for the last week, working on a project that nearly spiralled out of my control ~ but I managed to reign it in at the last minute :P

This LJ was never meant to actually house fic, merely the author's notes to accompany said fic. However, posting Fleeting here at LJ has been a great boon; I absolutely love the interaction I have in the comments section with my readers. It's just not something I can get on any of the archives I post at, where communicating with reviewers is a chore, at best, and a monumental hassle, at worst.
So, to that end, I've been contemplating expanding my base here at LJ for quite awhile. I'm constrained by what I can post to FF.net, and I've found that quite a few people don't even bother using Media Miner (though I find it just as easy to navigate as FF.net *shrug*). Due to my...interactions...with the folks running the pairing-centric archives, I no longer feel welcome to share my work there.
So, now that I have the free time with my thesis finished, I bit the bullet and opened a community.
The great thing about LJ is you can build the archive whatever way you want, and my goal with this archive was to make it fully searchable. That's right, people, you're now free to enjoy however much (or however little!) of my fic that you want. Search by title, universe, length, rating, genre, or pairing. You only like my Inu/Kag? Pull it up! Prefer the way I write Sesshoumaru and Kagome? Or maybe Sess/Rin, or Mir/San? It's all there.
This archive will also be the exclusive home to Allegiance. If you have the series index bookmarked, that's cool ~ it's not going anywhere =) The links will just take you to the community now, instead of entries here at my LJ.
I have a new entry for that story almost ready to post, so keep an eye out for it!
Of course, me being me, I couldn't help but take a look at my stats after organizing the tags...
I have to say, I was somewhat surprised by the results:

Apparently I write a LOT of T-rated fic. And angst. And drama. LOL!
So, if you prefer reading fic at LJ, please feel free to join the comm! I will be moving away from posting actual fic at this journal, and will be updating the comm first (yes, even with those massive Nihon Idol chapters o.O) in the future.
Thanks again for all your support =)

I feel like I'm two prompts behind on this story, and that annoys me, LOL. But its definitely cooking!!

I hear you. It was a while before I got back into the writing curve after moving into my dorm my timing was absolutely perfect, it was between comm deadlines
I've got some RL projects in the works as well which are disrupting my writing time.
No shit. I'm eating into valuable homework and assigned reading time by appeasing the evil bunnehs...
But its definitely cooking!!
*squees excitedly*

It took me a month on the other side of this move, so *shrug* I don't want to force anything, but its frustrating. Not that I was in much of a groove this time last month, but at least the ideas were flowing... I miss it ~ I get a real rush during the creative process.
But its definitely cooking!!

Aheh, well I'm glad someone's looking forward to my projects...that certainly helps the motivation!!

It just makes life better, eh? Better than drugs or alcohol in my book :P naturally it's obvious I am a massive geek

*deadpan* Doesn't people breathing down your neck get the creative juices flowing? LOL!

It really does :)

Seriously? It helps knowing people still give a damn. I wonder, sometimes...not like I have a passle of fanpoodles beating down my door on a daily basis or anything :P

*sweet smile* Only because we don't know where you live...

As for the multishipper, come on join the club. I agree, it helps to keep you on your toes!

The great thing about LJ is that you can customize it any way you want, and the tagging system makes for a great search - again, the possibilities are endless. You should give it some thought, if you ever find the time to be online LOL.

Its nice to have a few different irons in the fire, keeps the muses fresh hehe :D

It does keep the muses fresh. Mine have this odd habit lately of popping out when I'm working on something else. I give in to them some, just to get the idea out before it disappears.
I'm trying to do better with being online. I'm getting my schedule under control so I'm finding little blocks of free time to doodle. The biggest problem now is getting the doodles posted!
As for creating the archive, that may be just the excuse I need to take a day off and do something for myself! ;) lol
no subject
I tend to have the same problem - if I don't get the idea out when it comes, its lost forever! Talk about pressure o.O

Well, you've got a lot going on, so you can be forgiven ;) I, on the other hand...not so much anymore. I guess I just feel the pressure to produce since I, theoretically at least, have the time. (The US Open is sucking up quite a it of that time right now, at least as long as my fave players are still in the mix.)

Cool! =) I'll help you with organizing it, if you'd like, but as I said to

Cool! I'd love that! I'll find some time to get them all together first and hopefully get them organized in some semblence of order!
Hopefully, I can get some updating done tomorrow! I have a couple of things ready to roll!

Definitely a multi-shipper. It's what all the cool kids are doing.

Haha, thanks. Amazing what free time and annoying tennis commentators can spur you into sometimes! :P

Well, I don't know about that...but there are too many interesting characters in this series to only take advantage of one or two exclusively.

I admire both your organizational skills and apparent free time. LOL

LOL, nice to know someone's curious about what I'm doing when my muses are going into hiding! The list-maker comes out in force when the creative muses take a break.

Nothing like being a broke, unemployed, not-quite-graduated grad student :P
Honestly? I am beginning to think that something like this would solve all my fic problems...If only I had time.
I really like the interaction that's available here at LJ, something you can't get at MM.org or FF.net unless you really work at it. The downside is that not as many people will potentially see it, as they would on one of those bigger archives...but for you, I don't think that'd be a problem :P
I'd be happy to help you - or anybody, for that matter - organize something like this, but you kinda haveta know what you want before you start, especially if you have a large body of work.
I'm all about tagging systems, though - hell, I reorganized the one over at

LOL, well my job has been giving me ample time to wonder what my friends are up to while I'm stuck at work. :P

I'd lose what, the random fantards? Like I care. They hardly ever comment on my work anyway, and when they do, they don't have anything of value to say. I'm actually more interested in the fact (which I hadn't thought of before) that I could control which entries were public and which were not - and therefore what could be passed around (for awards, etc.) and what couldn't.
I'd be happy to help you - or anybody, for that matter - organize something like this, but you kinda haveta know what you want before you start
Yeah, organizing my fic would be a headache and a half... even I don't know the chronological order anymore. -facepalm- I always just sort of posted things wherever I felt like, whenever I felt like it.
I'm all about tagging systems
I'd like to come up with a system for tagging stuff, even just at my own lj. Alas, this is time consuming. LOL
Finding a layout for a fic journal would also be a problem, as I am easily distracted by shiny things and code. Maybe someday.
no subject
There's that, too. Nothing like taking control of who has access to your work! F-lock + flagging = the ultimate CYA :P

Well, I'm just that anal, to keep those sorts of records (or to look at when I update stories at MM.org, since they display that information), but you certainly don't have to be. Truth be told, it was prolly more hassle than it was worth, trying to post things in chronological order. Even with all my lists, I had to have about five different tabs open in my browser in an attempt to keep everything straight :P

*shrug* Consider it a standing offer. I've changed the tagging system at my LJ once or twice, and its easy to do if you already have on in place - thank goodness you can just wholesale rename tags! :P

That was half the fun, honestly. I found the layout for

As for organization, I've mostly lost track of the proper order for the fics I wrote for iyhedonism... and since I left the comm I can't go back and view my posts to check. I know they're out of order on aff and mediaminer. Ah well. Not like they string together into anything coherent (or are particularly worth reposting, since most/all of them are pointless porn) anyway.

I'm still trying to come up with a good way to tag for pairing... 99% of my fics have Mir/San as the sole or main pairing, so it doesn't seem fair to give a pairing tag for Inu/Kag when it's very minor in the scope of the fic, but it also doesn't seem quite right not to tag for it. I also can never decide whether or not to give individual ficlets/one-shots/drabbles their own tags. Decisiveness, I do not have it.
That was half the fun, honestly.
Oh, it's loads of fun. Which is why I can almost never pick one to settle on. XD
no subject
Well, I can't tell you what to do, or not to do...I can only offer up what I've done as an example. The organization was just as much for me as for any potential readers (I'm not sure how many people will join the comm vs just continuing to read my stuff at MM.org and FF.net...) as I like having that sort of thing right at my fingertips.
I did think it going a bit overboard to give each little fic a title tag...I like to only use tags I know I'll use more than once, if you know what I mean...
Oh, it's loads of fun. Which is why I can almost never pick one to settle on. XD
I've only found a couple of layout comms that have a nice variety (and I couldn't remember where you got your LJ layout from), but I'm always on the hunt for more. The ones at

Yup. Someday I'll decide what I want to do, and then I'll move forward (or not) with plans for a fic comm/journal of my own. -shrugs- I'd love to be more organized with regard to my fandom stuff, period, but I really doubt that'll become reality at this point. LOL
