First of all, many thanks to paynesgrey for nominating this fic for Best Romance at the Feudal Association! That was definitely a surprise, but not necessarily an unwelcome one :)

Well, I knew I would have a hard time meeting the word count this week at mirsan_fics, but I overshot it even more than I intended o.O Apparently I needed to fit in even more detail for this five-minute scene than I realized, so I'm glad I didn't agonize over turning this into a perfect drabble.

This is, of course, a very pivotal chapter in the serial, as we finally learn the fate of Kohaku. To say anymore would destroy the anxiety I attempted to build into the story itself, but let's just say ~ picking out pretentious titles and corresponding summary quotes has been almost as agonizing as writing the story itself. They all give hints and clues, if you're interested in that sort of metadata.

This time, sharp-eyed readers will notice I pulled a quote from Instant Star - not my usual MO, but then, I didn't have the patience to sift through my quote sites in an attempt to find something just as suitable. So ~ laziness has its payoffs? LOL.

The next chapter is going to be tough for me to write, so it might be a bit in coming ~ I'm apologizing in advance, so please don't pelt me with rotten fruit! But I promise, it gets back to the original intent of the inspiration song, and why I even dabbled in this universe to begin with...so hopefully, it will be worth the wait.
