10,000 Maniacs
This is going to sound incredibly pathetic, but ever since I noticed a fairly big milestone creeping up for my very first published fic, I've been watching it like a hawk, hoping to catch that magical moment. Today, on a whim, I clicked over to Media Miner and *gasp* actually caught it!

This is the very first standalone story of mine that's met 10,000 on the hitmeter at MM.org. A ridiculous notion, perhaps, but in some way, I'm kinda really proud. (It only took a year and a half...)
According to the same hit meter, 253 people have made it to the end of said story:

Not bad, for a story I completed almost a year ago and haven't really spoken of since, no?
Hits are something that buoy my confidence a little bit, since my stuff doesn't garner loads of reviews - it means people are reading, even if they aren't telling me so. Hell, even if its the same five readers, over and over again - at least someone's sharing in this little experience with me, which is, of course, the whole point of posting online in the first place :)
This is only the second of my stories to meet or exceed 10,000 hits overall (Fleeting having met that mark back in April of this year at FF.net), so its something rather special that it's my first piece, instead of maybe what I'm most "known" for.
So ~ I send a big "thank you" to my readers!! Without you, there's little point in posting my stuff on the internets to begin with :)
Coincidentally...my most popular piece also marked a milestone, having met and surpassed it sometime in the last day or so. For some reason Collected Works is quite well-read at MM.org (and, to some extent, FF.net...) ~ maybe because it was updated more often than anything else for awhile? At any rate, it's officially the story with the MOST hits, bar none, at any archive where I currently post my work.

I'm...not sure what I think of this, really. I'm glad people like my oneshots and drabbles, but I just don't think short form is my strongest suit. Oh, well ~ I'm happy someone's reading it, and I can only hope they're enjoying it as well!
There are still a few sekrit goals I hope to accomplish with the fics still currently in progress, but for now, I shall enjoy this little moment for what it's worth :)

I'm honestly surprised Memento Mori hasn't reached those figures yet. That's probably the story I'm best "known" for, unless Fleeting has somehow eclipsed it.
I still think you should put Allegiance at MM as a stand alone.
I will, eventually. Only the fact that its not being written in order is what's keeping it off the archives.
