A few gems from my f-list
I always approach April 1 with a bit of trepidation, but maybe because I've taken a huge step back from the ridiculousness of IY fandom lately (or maybe because I've jumped feet first into a childhood nostalgia fandom instead because of its sheer ability to make me insanely, pathetically happy), I was surprised at how many funny or positive comm posts have popped up today to celebrate this great Day o' Pranks :D (Isn't it sad how much being in a wanky, competitive fandom can condition you to simply expect the worst from a casual perusal of your friends list?)
First, there is the ~*BEstFicEVeR*~ post over at
fanficrants. The post itself is only trumped by its comments, LOLOL. Do I smell a BNF in the making?
Then, we have the first of three posi-posts to
fandomsecrets, which was led by a secret I could've made myself (though I didn't, sadly):
ETA: Part 2 | Part 3

Seriously, I've made some really wonderful, awesome friends via fandom, and I know I don't tell you guys how much I appreciate you often enough. So, consider yourselves loved, in pixellated form <3
Perhaps it wasn't fair of me to simply drop things completely and not really say "hey its me, not you" ~ so let me say it now: hey, it's me, not you. Fandom really does bring out the worst in me, especially when I'm under stress. So, if you've been wondering why I stopped reviewing your work or commenting on your journal or participating in general, that's why.
Right now? I'm not writing, I'm not reading, I'm not reviewing - BUT. Everybody's stuff that I usually read is going on this great big list of "reviewing to do" so that when I get back into IY fandom full-time again, I can literally pick up where I left off. I'm not giving up my resolution to leave better quality reviews simply because I need a vacation.
In the meanwhile, I've been working on something for another fandom that has made me downright giddy. I want to get closer to the end before I share it, because frankly? Its been nice to simply be writing something for me instead of feeling the expectations of others weighing on my shoulders as well. Its reminding me why I even got into fandom in the first place, which has been absolutely refreshing =)

I make no promises. I was hesitant to step away, because when I leave, its usually for good. But in my travails off to the side here, I've realized how much I really miss you guys.
just know you are much appreciated just for being you regardless of whether you're posting a bunch or not. :)
Awww, thanks <3
And dude. I'm totally curious about what your childhood fandom is now. =P
Mwahahaha. All shall be revealed in good time, have no fear :D The next fic-related things I post to this journal will be for/about said fandom :D

I, for one, won't begrudge you if you do, BUT -- *flails* I really hope that's not the case. Who will spam with heaps and heaps meta if you're gone?!
But in my travails off to the side here, I've realized how much I really miss you guys.
LOL - and I've realized how much your posts make my flist seem busy, believe it or not. :) But everyone's been a bit quiet lately, so there you go. Either way, I'm a wholehearted supporter of taking breaks from fandom on occasion. It's fun, but it can definitely be overwhelming with the dramaz and negativity sometimes. Personally, I will never regret the day when I took all of the usual drama-causing comms off my flist and just stuck to Friends and fanfic. It's funny for a while, but it just drains me - I'd rather write and play. :D

...Why do I get the sneaking suspicion I might have to brush up on other new old!canon? >.>

*huffs* It's not spam!
But everyone's been a bit quiet lately, so there you go.
*nods* Indeed, it seems to be one of fandom's slower moments, for whatever reason. I'm honestly surprised the new anime didn't bring more activity back than it did. Oh, well - goes to show how good I am at predicting trends! :P

THIS. When I did my little friends cut, I also dropped a load of comms that just made me rage at the very sight. Now when I update the newsletter, I only have to look at them one day a week, LOL. I still watch snark/wank/drama comms, but covertly. Its easier to let go if you merely observe...

Ahhh, but see, I'm nice! I've already posted up a HUGE resource mega-meta thread, which will be unveiled whenever any actual fic is posted.
So you can see the actual evidence of my fangirlism (well some of it...I didn't post download links for episodes, you're on your own for that one)no subject
LOL, true. But it's like spam, in that there's lots of it - except that you actually want it. :D

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I guess people weren't kidding when they said they were leaving once the story was over, LOL. Oh well! There's still the dub to be had - that might actually bring in fresh blood. (Hopefully, not too much of the bad kind.)

I agree. I'm still a member of a lot of things, but I only go there when it gets referenced or I'm feeling particularly masochistic. Makes for a happier fandom experience all around!
(well some of it...I didn't post download links for episodes, you're on your own for that one)
LOL. Well, I doubt I'll have too much trouble with that one.
But yeah. Excuse me, I have to go die of curiosity now.
I wonder what's the best way to go about that?=Pno subject
They're going to dub it for sure?
*hopes David Kaye is returning*
Excuse me, I have to go die of curiosity now.
Eh, it won't be a long wait, I don't think
if life can leave me alone long enough to actually let me turn my squee into something useful *facepalm*no subject
Well, I admit, I'm definitely assuming that there will be. Last I heard, they were talking about it. Truth be told, I'd be amazed if they didn't. For all of fandom's nonsense, IY was a popular series, and they'll cash in on that if they can.

The dilemma every fanfic writer must face, no? =P
