IYFG: You can has bannerz
Starting with this quarter (1st Quarter 2010), I have stepped in to fill
forthrightly's shoes as the official IYFG banner-maker.
Right now, I'm content to keep her template for the placement banners, because I like it, and I always have. I have tweaked the layout of the nominee banner a little, and am hemming and hawwing about whether or now I want to carry on the tradition of "un-seconded" or DQ banners. Does anybody actually use/want those?
I want to make banners people will be happy to display alongside their stories - so, to that end, I'll pretty much be sending out a massive email to the authors who win/place/show and ask for their input. After all, who knows their stories better than the person who writes them? I'm open to including fanart or doujinshi art (if permission is obtained), and I'll be seeing just how far I can push my poor little Paint.NET program - or if I'll need to upgrade to something a little more sophisticated (with filters, perhaps? LOL).
For anyone interested in, but unfamiliar with, my bannering work, you can see what I've done for
iy_themes here.

You put a lot of thought and work into them and it shows. Your banners are beautiful!
I never got DQ'd, so I can't say, but I liked the Un-seconded banners and picked mine up.
I always thought they were cute/funny... course not everyone likes what I do. :)
