Attention dA members!
Dec. 18th, 2009 09:38 amI have really wonderful readers and reviewers for my work, and I'm always looking for ways to show my appreciation for them and the feedback they give me. This can be tough sometimes, especially when they don't write/post stories themselves, but then ~ what am I, if not creative? :P
*pulls out pimp hat*
One of my favorite readers is *janey-in-a-bottle. If you're on dA, you might have seen her crocheted emoticons, which were put up for a Daily Deviation one day last week (they are awesome, LOL, especially the lovey-dovey one). She has entered one of their many contests over there, and because the competition is so fierce, she's setting her sights on the Community Choice award.
Every favorite received for "Dream in Progress" between now and 11:59:59 PM (PT) December 22, 2009 will count for the Community Choice placement.
So, if anyone on my wonderful LJ f-list has a dA account, would you consider clicking over to her piece and giving it a fave? I, personally, would've fave'ed it anyway because I think its amazing (I swear - its like she drew my own thought processes when it comes to creativity o.O)
While you're there, take a minute to check out the rest of her gallery ~ she specializes not only in crochet items, but also amazing scenic photography - and there might even be a bit of fanart stashed away in there! ;)
[And, while I'm working it here :P I invite you all to take a gander
luxken27_fics, which has a holiday-inspired layout that's hopefully a bit easier to read.]

Eikyuu Kosai nominations now open!
Jul. 1st, 2009 09:15 pm
The first term of Eikyuu Kosai (the Mir/San Awards) is now officially open! We seek to award the efforts of fans, both for fiction and art, in a variety of categories.
Our first nomination period runs from July 1 - July 14, 2009. Work eligible for awards this term must have been posted **to a publicly accessible archive** between January 1 and June 30, 2009.
For more information, please see this post.
I am ridiculously excited about this, hehe. It's exciting to know we're filling in a gap on the awards scene, and that we have the chance to highlight some artists and writers who maybe are overlooked by the other fandom award groups. I've submitted my first round of nominations, and it was surprisingly difficult to narrow down the field o.O
We could use as many members and as much support as we can get, so I invite all of you out there to check out the group and throw a few noms our way ;)

Also, on a completely unrelated note, I have succumbed to the temptation and joined deviantArt. I doubt I'm going to post my work there (just feels kinda skeezy posting fanfic on an art site, you know?), but I am already doing my fair share of favoriting and commenting :P So if you get a bit of unexpected fangirl squee on a piece of art that's eons old, I apologize in advance :P
