This series is going to be written exclusively from Charlie's POV, mostly because I think that will be the most interesting way to tell this. If he could birth a baby himself, he'd do it, but he can't - so he'll go through his wife's pregnancy every step of the way, from this moment of them deciding to start trying, to her actually having the baby, and beyond.

I know kid!fic isn't everyone's cup of tea. It isn't even my cup of tea, but I've had a surprisingly nice response to the first two entries in this series. We'll see if anybody else wants to board this train with me, or if they'd rather stick to the fun falling-in-love Count Me In universe instead. These two post-canon continuums are totally unrelated. Which will make life interesting for me, because I'll be working on them both at the same time. Luckily, writing for one tends to inspire me to pursue ideas for the other, so hopefully this won't be the last SMC fill for these two in some capacity :D

I enjoyed writing this immensely, and ozqueen enjoyed receiving it. I'm really happy I was able to push all the buttons for her that the book pushed in me. I have so many feels and so much sympathy for all of the Thomas brothers with this book - Charlie and Sam and poor David Michael, who feels left out but probably doesn't really understand why.

Hmm...I *do* have a David Michael prompt in my babysitters100 table...maybe this is a way to fulfill it...

To my great relief, ozqueen really enjoyed this, so yay! I am always a bit doubtful that my sense of humor translates well into the page. I was also a bit nervous about just putting a shortfic out there and letting it flail on its own merits. (700 words may not be "short," per se, but compared to my usual fare it certainly is!) lionessvalenti enjoyed this fic, as well as others from fandom_stocking, which definitely made *me* feel better about writing a character I hadn't really played with in any way. This was the first of four fics I wrote for fandom_stocking this year, and definitely the one that was the furthest out of my comfort zone. I enjoyed the experience, though, and definitely want to write more Jessi!fic. After all, I *do* have some experience writing about Juilliard, haha!! :D
