New year, new attitude
Jan. 1st, 2012 11:15 amI'm wearing a new shirt, new hat, brand new ideas as a matter of fact I've changed for good!
Well, I hope the changes I've made are for the better, at least =)
Because of LJ's general fail over the last year, I've been sprucing up my Dreamwidth account. It is now basically a complete mirror of my LJ, minus the IY stuff. I'm going to be posting my notes, recs and various whatnots to both accounts, so that I'm not subjected to the whims of LJ's servers (and the Russian attacks). I'm eventually going to relocate my master lists over (t)here as well, since

So if you have a DW account, feel free to friend me if you haven't already =) When my paid time runs out on LJ, I'll probably put my money into my DW account. Now that a couple of my fandoms have migrated, it will be worth it to have my icons, etc (t)here instead of (t)here.
Because I've made all these changes to said account, I also took advantage of their open signups to create a new fic journal -

I'll still be posting my stuff in various places: LJ, DW, FF.net, AO3, so you should always be able to find it =)
You may have noticed that I'm saying a lot of "except for IY" in the above paragraphs. That's for two reasons: (1) the sheer enormity of my IY archive is just way too much to start posting elsewhere, and (2) I'm pretty much on the tail end of Inuyasha fandom. I'm wrapping up my stories over there, and I have no plans to start any more. Once I finish Fleeting and the giftfic I owe my very patient 100th reviewer of said story :P, I'm pretty much done with writing for the series. I'm still going to be compiling the newsletter for

I don't really make writing resolutions at the beginning of the year (I celebrate my fandom anniversary instead), but considering the spate of writing I've done over the last month for various challenges, one thing has become very clear to me: in 2012, I want to finish more projects than I start, LOL. I have a 100-prompt table for BSC fandom and a 100K+ epic fic going for KI, so I really don't need to be splitting my attention even further for another extra-involved project, you know? So in the next three months, I'm going to firm up my goals for the year - and decide whether or not to close the Lost in Translation collection, along with my IY stories.
So, here's to a very productive 2012! ♥
LJ's latest DDoS attack
Nov. 29th, 2011 09:31 amLooking at "Latest Things" here on DW clued me in...and yeah. LJ will probably be down for the better part of the week:
Russian Internet gives election voice to opposition
By Anna Malpas (AFP) – 8 hours ago
MOSCOW — As Russia becomes Europe's largest Internet user, online media and blogs burst with vociferous criticism of the authorities, exposing political scandals and abuses ignored by state media.
Whether it's a Twitter poster parodying President Dmitry Medvedev or a YouTube video of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin being whistled, the Internet is seething with subversive commentary ahead of Sunday's legislative polls.

Alexei Navalny's blog is hosted on LJ, and has been the target of these attacks in the past.

Programming Note #3
Jul. 27th, 2011 09:52 amSo, as suspected, LJ has been hit by another DDoS attack. Confirmation here.
ETA:

The last time this happened (in April), it took about 2 weeks for things to settle down again, so it looks like we're in for the long haul, folks.
