23.) Favorite Friends Forever:

I am the first to admit that I'm not much for this series, but it certainly got off to a promising start. Just what I always wanted: more Thomas siblings canon. I love this book to a shameless degree, even though Patrick is The Worst and didn't deserve any of the reconciliations he had with any of his children, least of all Charlie. I mean, he actually forgot David Michael existed! Talk about callous.

Anyway - I love this book because we learn so much about Charlie and Sam and how they viewed their relationship with their father. I love Charlie's anger, and Sam's attempts to play peacemaker, and Kristy's general awkwardness about all of it. She remembers Patrick to a degree, but never had the same depth of relationship with him that her brothers had, and that's all explored in this book. Whatever reservations I had about this series, they were (momentarly) swept aside with this amazing first entry.
